Our river monitoring system's control room
is constantly collecting and storing
information from sensors placed all over
the river basin. All this data helps us get
ahead of and prepare for possible flooding
events and keep everyone in our
communities safe.
If the water level gets too high, an alarm
goes off, a warning light flashes, and the
message is sent out to radio communicators
along the river, who then lets the
appropriate people know what's happening.
SMS alerts are also sent out to registered
contacts in case of emergency. This makes
sure that the right people are notified in a
timely manner so that they can do whatever
they need to do to keep themselves and
others out of harm's way.
