Organized by the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction, the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction this year (GP2025) is a global multi-stakeholder forum focused on reducing disaster risk and increasing the resilience of communities. The eighth session of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (GP2025) will take place from 2 to 6 June 2025, in Geneva, Switzerland. Results-oriented, innovative and inclusive, it is convened and organized by the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) and hosted by the Government of Switzerland.

Embodying the all-of-society approach, GP2025 will be a high-profile opportunity to interact with, strategize with and challenge the world’s top disaster risk reduction thinkers and practitioners, policymakers, government officials, stakeholders and community members. The GP2025 will take stock, assess and review progress in 
implementing the recommendations outlined in the High-Level Meeting Political Declaration adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in May 2023. The theme of the GP2025 is “Every Day Counts, Act for Resilience Today”, highlighting the urgency of collective action to accelerate the implementation of the Sendai Framework.

GP2025 is an inclusive and accessible multi-stakeholder platform which will be held in a hybrid format. The  preparatory days take place on 2 and 3 June 2025, during which stakeholder groups and partners organize preparatory events and consultations in the lead-up to the official programme.
