Chongqing University 2nd International Conference on Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability (CCES): October 5-7, 2022

Event Date: October 05, 2022

Full Details:

Humans are endangering the planet every day by the excessive release of greenhouse gases (GHG) which causes climate change and increases the rate of global warming. Forest fires are noticeably increasing in the past 5 years in regions that were not affected by global warming before. This is alarming because fires do not only emit extra carbon dioxide and increase the Earth\'s temperature, but it also affects agricultural lands which cause social and economic catastrophes. The economic and social consequences behind this environmental degradation are prominent. Despite the world\'s efforts to control global warming, the effects of greenhouse gas are still increasing, and climate change continues.

The second edition of the international conference on Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability (CCES) calls for urgent actions to mitigate the major challenges of climate change. In addition, many national and international guidelines and actions, such as the Paris Agreement, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and carbon neutrality, have been implemented. To achieve this, however, it requires full support from all sectors of society. In particular, the transformation of traditional modes of environmental regulation in various sectors, including transport, industry, construction, power generation, agriculture, land use, and forestry, towards sustainability is one of the fastest, cheapest, and most efficient ways to reduce GHG emissions. Sustainable environmental planning and design is also an important adaptive way to reduce climate threats and risks in today\'s world.

This edition is a step towards empowering energy decision-makers and stakeholders to join forces and address the challenges of climate change to make real progress. By gathering climate-change and environmental-sustainability researchers and sharing their latest achievements and research results, they can discuss their views and take actions to achieve a more resilient, comfortable, and sustainable future. This conference will be an important source of information and will let the people fully understand the potential environmental sustainability opportunities in response to climate change.

The motivation of this meeting is to contribute to the international and national objectives of addressing the challenges of climate change through the following methods:

  • Measure climate change and assess environmental, economic, and social impacts
  • Explore mechanisms for environmental planning effective and sustainable resources
  • Advance in strategies and technologies to mitigate and adapt to climate change
  • Strengthen the participation and integration of different actors at the international, national, state, municipal, and community levels to achieve environmental sustainability.
  • Reporting pilot cases and exemplars that can help address climate change issues.
